Green areas for a stroll
PARC GÜELL
It is one of the parks with most personality worldwide. It was built during the Modernist artistic period (beginning of the 20th century) through the mosaic technique, by Antoni Gaudí: its design keeps in harmony with the environment thanks to the colours of the ceramics and original shapes.
LA CIUTADELLA
The Ciutadella was the first public park projected as such. It was built on the ancient grounds of the Phillip 5th's fortress. Today, the park holds a great variety of plants, which can be admired by the visitors and a wide variety of birds as well (more than 100 species.)
LABERINTO DE HORTA
The park Labyrinth of Horta is the oldest garden in Barcelona as well as a magnificent example of the neoclassical art period (18th Century.) The garden area is really wide and includes a Mediterranean forest giving it the condition of a green lung inside Barcelona.
